10 Amazing, Unique Artists You Have to Check Out

I hope that you find this selection of artists to be informative and fun. Each artist featured here is infinitely unique and talented in their own respective niches. This list is presented in no particular order, so please explore and enjoy.

1. Rob Gonzalvez - ProgressiveArt features the art of Rob Gonzalvez, who's pieces include scenes that blend into each other seamlessly, express endless creativity, and seem to blur the line between fantasy and reality. Look closely at each image and the surrealism will make it seem like your world is tilting on it's axis.

3. 3D Sidewalk Art - Impact Lab is displaying the art of Julian Beever and Kurt Wenner, two artists who are able to create sidewalk drawings so realistic that you would never know that they are in fact, drawings. Everything they make seems to be sitting on the ground, coming out of it, or going into it, and sometimes you can't even tell that there is any ground at all!

4. Rubikcubism - Space Invaders Art includes portraits made entirely out of imagination and Rubik's cubes. Some of my favorites are the Rubik A Bomb, The Rubik Mona Lisa, and the Rubik Bonnie and Clyde. A little trick: the smaller the image you're looking at, the better you can the overall picture, so check out all the thumbnail images.

2. Space Paintings - This artist showcases his spray paint art online and gives awesome video tutorials showing his unique painting techniques. When watching the first video of his I stumbled onto, I had to blink and rewind it a few times to convince myself that it really was showing every step, not just skipping ahead from a bunch of messy shapes into the masterpiece it became.

5. Firestarter Pyrography - Joanne Phillips has an extensive history in the art world, including this website which is dedicated to the exceptional art of Wood Burning. Explore her online gallery to view examples of her pyrographic clocks, plaques, kitchenware, signs, stools, and more!

6. Margot Lovinger - Using absolutely no paints or dyes, this artist creates every one of her pieces entirely from fabric. Her lovely portraits are like nothing I've ever seen outside of her website. Keep in mind that some of her work includes nudity/partial nudity, very tasteful and beautiful in my opinion. My personal favorite is the piece that is first in her gallery, entitled "Afternoon".

8. Coffee Art - Karen Eland constructs entire paintings using only espresso and water; no other paints or pigments at all. Her gallery features everything from concepts that are completely original, to semi-derivative works like her "Mona Latte", featuring the Mona Lisa holding a latte in her hand.

7. Fascinations - With an slogan like this site has, "wonders created by physicists", I knew I was in for a treat. Fascinations manufacture toys and gifts that make it difficult to decide whether they were created by artists or scientists. The answer, as it turns out, is both.

9. Glass Sculptures - This site features the galleries of many glass artists who create all kinds of sculptures including dishes, vases, platters, bottles, lamps, and many other pieces, all one-of-a kind. Many of their pieces rely only on their shape and color for their beauty and appeal, while others include identifiable objects like glass flowers and brilliantly colorful fish.

10. Liza Lou - An artist who's work could probably be seen from space because of the vivid sparkle it gives off, Liza Lou can take an ordinary kitchen appliance, like a sink, and turn it into something truly extraordinary. Lou uses beads of every color under the rainbow, and quite possibly a few that can't be found there, to produce a dazzling effect. Her first large and most famous work, "The Kitchen" is, in fact a kitchen; every square inch of which is covered in beads. This includes the curtains, dishes, sink, cabinets, floor, walls, refrigerator, broom, food, even the water in the sink!
